Feature: Games Consoles
Xbox 360
This is the latest and most powerful gaming machine yet released with a 20GB
hard drive, a custom designed CPU and 512 MB of RAM – in plain English that
makes it far more powerful than any other console on the market. More powerful
means a seamless gaming experience and spectacular graphics and if you have
HDTV you will be making the most of your XBOX 360 visual experience.
As well as playing games you can view DVDs and the system supports CDs,
DVD-ROMs, DVD-R/RW, MP3s, JPEGs, and more. All the accessories are wireless, no
more wires.
Xbox
The Xbox was released in Europe in February 2002. Today there are over 450
games for the console and the library continues to grow.
The Xbox has an inbuilt hard drive so you can store and play music and DVDs
(though you’ll need to purchase a DVD Movie Playback Kit separately).
If you have broadband it’s worth purchasing Xbox Live, with this add on you can
compete with thousands of other Xbox owners around the world.
Sony Playstation 2 Slim
The original Playstation 2 was released in Europe in November 2000 and has
since been superseded by a slimmed down version offering the same
functionality, now a sleek 2.8cm thin.
Like it’s competitors the Playstation 2 can be used as a CD and DVD player
(comes as standard) and has Dolby Digital 5.1 theatre quality sound.
Nintendo GameCube
Nintendo’s GameCube was released in Europe in May 2002 and has developed a
library of well over 550 games for it since then.
With the WaveBird Wireless Controller you can play without cords, but you do
have to buy it separately. Other add-ons include the Broadband Adapter and 56K
Modem Adapter for online play.
